I was a bit skeptical at first, but decided to try the Versatile Remote WiFi enabled kit. At first I didn’t like that it only updates the temperature at long intervals. However, you can change the setting to log the Temperature more often. It has already alerted me several times every time the door on the refrigerator gets left partiallly open, potentially saving me hundreds of dollars.

This is a marketing scheme. You order the tool and it wants you to upgrade to premium to make it useful. The temperature updates are slow, and the alerting is unreliable. Now, as of a week ago, I am being told that the device no longer sends an e-mail alert if you don't have their premium subscription. This device is now useless since you have to manually login to the site and check the status. To sell a product, with an advertised key function, and then remove the key functionality should be criminal and customers should be refunded or grandfathered in with the premium subscription, given we were sold a product that can send emails. Looks like I am adding to the landfill and finding better solutions.

It does send email and text to alert when the temperatures are outside of the set parameters. But you can not open the app and see the real time temperature at any given time.

We sometimes have to prove the equipment is working properly and the issue is the building HVAC. Our old sensors needed an upgrade, thus we decided to try these. We found this unit easy to setup and had many sensors to choose from. We opted to buy the door open and two remote temp sensors. With the integral humidity and temp sensors gave us many channels of data to review. We did a test on a refrigerator in our room, as well as the room. The data is easily downloaded and upon graphing in excel, we discovered some interesting trends. So far so good. A footnote, this unit runs on AA batteries.

Do not purchase unless you want a lot of alerts every day telling you that the device cannot connect to the Internet, although it as well within range.

This monitor is beyond disappointing. We have had both a walking refrigerator & freezer malfunctions and this has alerted us to neither. It is more reliable disconnecting from the internet than actually reading temperature and alerting us to any issues. Leading us to potentially thousands of dollars in food losses.

Don't waste your money, I bought 2 high temp and 2 normal.
I've been using them for a month now and they aren't accurate at all. The high temp sensor seems to run about 30° low, and yes I have checked the temperature with several different temperature monitoring devices. Another problem is the devices themselves disconnect from the WiFi connection a lot, so much so that you just start ignoring the warnings that are sent so what good does it do you.

The product works good. My issue is, I can't get the probes for it. Maybe on back order. I ordered an additional set with probes included two weeks ago,but it hasn't been sent yet.

Purchased for use in 11 locations. Setup is simple. Ability to read 2 separate units with additional probes. Text and email notifications, with ability to assign different people to receive these notifications at different locations. Great that dashboard is already connected to webstaurant account, making it easy to monitor. Would definitely recommend.

I ordered the VersaTile recently, as the Premium features are included with an active Plus subscription. The unit and probes are compact but seem durable. The probes are easy to install - this one is configured with two probes, one for each side of the walk in cooler & freezer. The VersaTile itself has a built-in temperature and humidity sensor as well. The wireless range is good, however, be sure to check the signal strength of your wifi near the location you plan to place the VersaTile unit.
The online interface is easy to set up and use, and the automatic email and text message notifications work well. It appears that a door open/close sensor will be added in the future, so I installed my VersaTile unit near the walk-in door in order to take advantage of that upcoming feature.
So far, I would definitely recommend this unit - it works well and is a great price. The temperature logging and automatic alerts will greatly increase food safety.

The VersaTiles helped us big time this weekend. We had a problem with our cooler Saturday afternoon and the only way we knew was because of the alerts we had setup. We were able to get a tech in here Saturday afternoon/evening to get the cooler temp back in line. So far working pretty well!
