Avantco Z-Series VersaHub Update

Prerequisites

  • Your building's WiFi network with a case-sensitive name and password.
  • A strong and stable internet connection.
  • A personal device with WiFi (like a mobile phone or computer) to connect to your refrigeration unit.
  • A small-sized object (like a ballpoint pen) to press the reset button on the equipment's WiFi gateway.
  • A small phillips-head screwdriver
  • The credential email containing your unit's unique username and password, from KitchenDash/VersaHub when you first connected your device. Note: To retrieve these credentials, just remove your unit from VersaHub and then re-add it. The credentials will be provided again.
The downloaded firmware update file named 'USR-C210-MQTT-C043037_V2.10_ota' on your computer or mobile device. If you don't have this file yet, you can request it here. (contact us link)

Instructions

  1. To access the gateway, look for the sticker on units that reads 'WiFi Gateway' located in the upper left side of the unit (fig. 1). Loosen the two screws and swing the cover open to reveal the gateway lights and the reset button.
  2. Reset your gateway by pressing the small button on the gateway for 5 seconds with a small-sized object (like a ballpoint pen). If successful, the green LED light will blink for up to 20 seconds and the “KitchenDash_XXXXX” WiFi network will be visible on your personal device.
    1. Note: This will perform a factory reset to your refrigeration WiFi settings only. If your unit was already added to VersaHub, it will not be removed, but it may show as disconnected until this update is complete.
  3. Using your personal device, connect to the KitchenDash_XXXXXX (or VersaHub_XXXXXX) WiFi network broadcasted by the refrigeration unit using your personal device.
    1. Note: Your device will be offline while connected to the refrigeration unit's network.
  4. Open your preferred web browser, enter '10.10.100.254' into the address bar, and press Enter to access the gateway login page.
  5. Log in using the credentials from the initial setup email when prompted.
  6. Confirm your equipment's current firmware is v2.7 or older. If your equipment is already running v2.10 you don't need to complete these steps.
  7. Select "Firmware Update" from the menu (fig. 2).
  8. Select “Choose File” (fig. 3), select the firmware file name “USR-C210-MQTT-C043037_V2.10_ota” from your downloads folder and select "Upload" (fig. 4).
  9. The upload process may take some time to complete. Do not close the page while the gateway upload is in progress. If you encounter a 'Close this page to continue' message, refresh the page but do not close it.
    1. Note: Certain devices might automatically reconnect to a nearby WiFi network during this process. Ensure your device remains connected to the KitchenDash_XXXXXX (or VersaHub_XXXXXX) network. If the connection is lost, please reconnect and start over.
  10. If prompted, log in to the unit again using the unique credentials provided in the initial email. If nothing happens after 1 minute, refresh to get the login to appear. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.
  11. Confirm that the firmware version is now v2.10 (fig. 5).
  12. Connect your gateway to your building's WiFi network using your case-sensitive name and password under Network Settings. Select the eye icon to reveal or hide your password.
  13. Select "Save" and then "Restart" to apply the settings and restart the unit's gateway.
  14. Navigate to your VersaHub and verify your unit is online, located under the unit's name.
