Precise Monitoring and Alerting for Your Electrical Circuits' Current Draw
Primary Use Case
The Versatile Current Sensor can monitor the electrical current draw of the circuit its installed on.
When configured with low or high amp thresholds you'll receive alerts when the current exceeds or falls below a certain threshold for a period of time (user configurable).
- A 'minimum' threshold should only be used for critical equipment that is always on. Equipment that gets turned off daily will place your unit in an alarm state. For information on achieving optimal battery life, refer here.
- Ex. Most refrigeration is always on, and you may choose to monitor it for a tripped breaker. Note; Not all refrigeration draws power 100% of the time. If yours is like this, you could receive false positives.
- A 'maximum' threshold can be useful if you know the typical current draw of a piece of equipment. By setting a maximum threshold of above that, the VersaTile will notify you of a current draw higher than is typical, provided the high draw lasts longer than the 'if persists' setting (see below).
- You want historical data on equipment current draw
