Door Sensor

The VersaTile door sensor is a tool designed to alert users when a door has been left open for an extended period, with adjustable alarm sensitivity settings. By default, it notifies users if a door remains open for more than 15 minutes, making it ideal for monitoring walk-in or reach-in refrigeration units to prevent accidental door openings.

The sensor does not reflect real-time door open/close status on your VersaHub dashboard

Effortless Alarm Customization

Primary Use Case

The alarm sensitivity can be adjusted in the settings panel (below).

 

By default, the VersaTile door sensor is configured to issue an alarm notification if the sensor is open for longer than 15 minutes.
  • A popular use for the door sensor is monitoring walk in or reach in refrigeration for doors left open accidentally.

Not recommended for:

Installation on doors often left open. When in an alarm state the VersaTile with audibly alarm until resolved (refer to battery blog post).

 

Installation Tips:

  • Installation of sensor and magnet in a closed state should not have a gap greater than 1/4" for reliability.
  • Recommend installing sensor at point furthest away from hinge to better sense door is slightly open.
  • Utilize provided cable ties to keep cords clear of doors & prevent pull out.
