Refrigeration System Failure

  • Z Series

This alarm indicates that the temperature of your VersaHub WiFi-enabled commercial equipment has not decreased as expected and that the refrigeration system has been disabled to prevent further equipment damage.

Troubleshooting Steps

The issue could be caused by a few different reasons. Here are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:

Error Code: rsF (flashing)

  1. Check the thermostat setting to ensure it is set to the correct temperature.
  2. Check that the door is closing properly and sealing tightly. Also, check for any objects that may be in the way of the door causing it to remain open.
  3. Allow hot food to cool to room temperature before placing it in the refrigeration unit.
  4. Check the airflow. If the system's airflow is restricted, it may not be able to effectively remove heat from the space. Ensure that all air filters are clean and that no obstructions block the flow of air. Also, make sure that the refrigeration unit is not overcrowded, as this can prevent proper airflow and cause the unit to work harder to maintain the correct temperature.
  5. Inspect the evaporator coil for any visible signs of damage or blockages. Consider having a professional inspect and clean the evaporator coil if it appears excessively dirty or damaged.
  6. Check the refrigerant levels. If the system is low on refrigerant, it may not be able to cool the space adequately. You may need to add more refrigerant or have a professional recharge the system.
  7. Check the compressor. If the compressor is not functioning properly, it may be causing the system to fail. You may need to have a professional inspect and repair the compressor.
  8. Check the system's controls and sensors. If the system's controls and sensors are not functioning properly, it may not be able to accurately regulate the temperature and flow of refrigerant. You may need to have a professional repair or replace these components.
  9. Check to make sure that the system is receiving power. This includes checking the outlet or circuit breaker to ensure that it is functioning properly.
  10. Power cycle the unit to clear the error and to re-enable refrigeration.
